Red Cross Benefit Concert (5/23/03)

For the low cost of $3, music fans from Parsons, Yates Center, Fort Scott, and other southeast Kansas communities rocked out with four young bands at the Liberty Theatre in downtown Fort Scott.
Sometimes Forever took the stage first with a blazing set of alternative/emo. LGF followed with a mix of punk and hard rock. Both from Parsons, the two bands drew some of the evening's biggest cheers.
King TP played third with a set of good old-fashioned, authentic punk. The SEK punks made their first appearance in Fort Scott a memorable one.
Pond Monkeys finished up the evening with a mix of old and new tunes. Included in the set were covers of The Hives' "Hate To Say I Told You So", Pink's "Don't Let Me Get Me", "El Scorcho," and the debut of Daniel Brasuell's latest rocker.
The night was a success, bringing in nearly $450 for the American Red Cross.
